I'm crushed!! Where did you read this? I am guessing that their last show as a band wll be cancelled or did that already happen. I was thinking that it was scheduled for Halloween 2005.
What a downer. I will be listening to the Tramps the rest of the night in tribute.

Damnit, all the shit happens to that band. I wonder what kind of band they could have been without the drug problems, in and out of Prison(the real Prison unlike Ness) and death. They were all very talented artists. Could this be it for the tramps?

The Tramps were not going to play for Halloween. Manic Hispanic is playing a costume party Saturday at Alexs bar, which has 2 members of the Tramps, Gabby and Warren. They will still be playing in tribute to Spanky.
The Tramps will still keep playing, they already hired a new drummer. Due to health problems Spanky was replaced for the Hootenanny show by Jamie Reidling who drums for the Hunns and was the Tramps drummer prior to Spanky.
Spanky was one of my dearest friends, and also Jonny Two Bags and Curt who is SD's road manager. It looks like the wake will be Friday and the services on Saturday. I'm hoping due to the fact that there is no SD show scheduled Saturday that they will fly home for a day to bury their brother.
Spanky loved alot of people, but I want Jonny to know that he spoke more highly of you than anyone ever, and he was so proud of you for getting in Social Distortion. I've earned alot of respect for you from Spankys stories and love for you.

Oh, and Ludeboy as far as drugs and the Cadillac Tramps go, yes there was alot of them in the past. Gabby has been the only one that has had the most recent history with drugs in the band, and he's been clean since, well... aprox 6 to 9 months before the Sept. 11th incident. He got out of prison about a month or two before that, and started running Danny and LP's recovery homes. Since then, he's been kickin ass. He's still running their homes plus he just went to school to do concrete inspection, and makes $40 something an hour, in addition he pulls alot of doubletime. Then of course he makes $$$ for all the Flock of Goo Goo, Tramps, and Manic shows. He's definately turned it all around. I'm so proud of him. Theres no way he would let drugs interfere with his bands, or the life that he's made for himself.

I understood what your point about drugs was. They probably would have gotten huge. I just wanted to give you an update.
Yah, I heard of Drive By Smile. Gabby used to come over to my house and play the CD for me while he was still writing the songs. I think I went to all the shows they played (there wasnt that many, maybe 5). If I recall they played with the Adolescents that night?? Spanky did that project with Gabby, Ray Bones, and Jay Puente. I may stand corrected, but I think he did the same project years prior with the Ruffino Brothers (China White) which is probably why he already had a copy of the CD. He decided to start doing more Manic and Flock shows and then Spankys health wasnt doing so great, so they put the project on hold. Thats been about 2 years now. When Spankys health was strong they would book a Tramps show.
Cool pictures!! Faster Pussycat thats funny!
I would love to get a copy of that video. I go to Fullerton all the time to visit my sister and niece, so I can even pick it up if you dont want to pay for postage.
When are they going to open that Slide Bar? I drove by not to long ago and it still wasnt done.
Whats up with that??

Erica,
Yeah you gotta point. I ment drugs over the years not recently. Gabby has started another band maybee you havent heard of yet-Drive By Smile. I saw them play at Alex's about a year ago and it was wierd watching gabby play the guitar and sing. Have you heard of them? A couple of years ago me and a couple of buddys went to the galaxy to see this guys band play (faster Pussycat)hehe and guess who was there? Gabby. I hit him up and said I was a big fan of his over the years and took a pic with him. It was kinda funny seeing him at a Faster Pussycat show. The pic is on myspace check out

haha...thanks!!
I actually just found out that I get to put a little piece together on Spanky for the new Punk Rock Confidential magazine! I am so happy that I get to honor him that way.
I know alot of people, but especially in the Tramps/Manic scene. I'm tight with all those guys, Spanky and I were very close. He was one of my best friends. He used to call me everytime they played, do you wanna be on the list tonight? Sure honey!
Anyways, I've lived here for only 7 years and seen people come and go in this scene for various reasons. I have self respect, treat others with respect, and Im out and about at my favorite shows....its not hard to make friends and keep 'em!
If you havent seen Punk Rock Confidential yet, its Fat Mike from NOFX's new creation. Its a great mag! Maybe I'll start writing for them as a hobby????
